Learning
Our curriculum is broad, ambitious, and taught well. But some of the most important learning at Baslow St Anne's happens beyond the classroom.
Every year group
Forest School
Every child at Baslow St Anne's takes part in Forest School — from Reception right through to Year 6. Set in the stunning landscape on our doorstep, Forest School sessions build resilience, creativity, and a genuine connection with the natural world.
Children light fires, build shelters, identify plants, and take managed risks. These are experiences that stay with them — and that you simply can't replicate indoors.
Building independence
Trips & Residential Adventures
We believe in pushing children's horizons early. Our school trips are ambitious — we take children to remarkable places and, from the junior years, give them their first taste of independence away from home.
Duke's Barn
Residential adventure trips to this Peak District centre give children teamwork challenges, orienteering, and nights away from home in a safe, supported environment.
Chatsworth & beyond
Day visits to Chatsworth Estate, local heritage sites, and outdoor venues that bring classroom learning vividly to life.

Real programming skills, taught through projects that excite and challenge.
Drama
Confidence, voice, and creativity — performing in front of an audience is something every child should experience.
