Learning
Our curriculum is broad, ambitious, and taught well. But some of the most important learning at Baslow St Anne's happens beyond the classroom.
Every year group
Forest School
Every child at Baslow St Anne's takes part in Forest School — from Reception right through to Year 6. Set in the stunning landscape on our doorstep, Forest School sessions build resilience, creativity, and a genuine connection with the natural world.
Children light fires, build shelters, identify plants, and take managed risks. These are experiences that stay with them — and that you simply can't replicate indoors.
Building independence
Trips & Residential Adventures
We believe in pushing children's horizons early. Our school trips are ambitious — we take children to remarkable places and, from the junior years, give them their first taste of independence away from home.
Lea Green
Residential trips to this Derbyshire outdoor education centre give children teamwork challenges, orienteering, and nights away from home in a safe, supported environment.
Whitehall
An outdoor activity centre in the Peak District where children build resilience and independence through adventure.
Hollowford
Set in the heart of the Peak District, Hollowford offers residential experiences that challenge children and build lasting memories.
After school & lunchtime
Clubs & Activities
We run a wide range of clubs throughout the year. Whether a child is drawn to code, performance, sport, or making things, there is something here for them.
Coding Club
Real programming skills, taught through projects that excite and challenge.
Drama
Confidence, voice, and creativity — performing in front of an audience is something every child should experience.
Choir
Singing together builds confidence, musicality, and a real sense of belonging.
Gardening
Growing things from seed teaches patience, responsibility, and a connection to the natural world.
Writing
For children who love stories — a space to write, share, and develop their voice as authors.
Football
Team play, tactics, and plenty of running — open to all year groups.
Hockey
Stick skills, teamwork, and competitive play on the school grounds.
Netball
Fast-paced and tactical — building agility, communication, and teamwork.
Cricket
Batting, bowling, and fielding — a great summer sport for all abilities.
Bikeability
National cycle training that gives children the skills and confidence to ride safely on the road.
Scootering
Balance, coordination, and fun — a great way to get active and build confidence outdoors.
